Kintampo, (Bono East) Aug 31, GNA- Mr Francis Owusu Antwi, the Bono East Regional Minister, has urged peaceful co-existence between the Wanagara and the Mo Traditional sects in the Kintampo Municipality for the purpose of development.
He said peace and unity remained pre-requisites for development, saying, without that the development of the area could not be brought to the next level.
Mr Antwi gave the advice when he interacted with the leaders of the two traditional sects in a meeting at Kintampo as part of his five-day working visits to the region, saying unity and social cohesion would not only bring joy, but also spur rapid socioeconomic development and better the lives of the people.
He said the government remained committed to tackling the emerging developmental needs of the people, however, without peace and unity, it would be difficult for the government to do so. Mr Antwi gave the assurance that the people would equally benefit from the distribution of the national cake, calling on the need for the traditional authorities to help develop the potential of the youth in the area.
He said the government had prioritized youth development to employable skills training to drive development.
Nana Kwaku Danquah, the Paramount Chief of the Mo Traditional area, thanked the minister for the visit and assured of his commitment to work hard to deepen the prevailing peace in the area.
