Accra, July 13, GNA – The Rotary Club of Accra, Airport East (RCAAE) has inducted Mr Benjamin Baafi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) as its new president with a call for enhanced social advocacy and mentorship.
He becomes the first police officer to be inducted as the club’s president at a ceremony held in Accra for the president and board.
Delivering his maiden speech, Mr Baafi reiterated the club’s focus on critical social initiatives, highlighting its Prostate Cancer project and Youth Empowerment mentorship programme.
“As Rotarians, we are to view our membership as an opportunity to serve society,” he said.
Outlining his vision, Mr. Baafi assured that the club would continue to initiate and implement socially responsive projects, and empower young people with tools and opportunities through its Youth Empowerment project.
He paid homage to past presidents, noting their contributions to the club’s achievements and community impact.
He also expressed confidence in the board’s ability to lead the club to greater heights in its bid to deliver its mandate.
He noted also the importance of mobilising the collective strengths of all to achieving greatness, and, to that end, called on other clubs to partner RCAAE to execute impactful projects for the benefit of society.
Mr. William Adjabui, the immediate past president, in his address, pledged his continued support for the new administration and urged them to commit to making positive impact in the community.
He assured that the RCAAE which would soon celebrate its fifth anniversary, was poised to make greater impact in the years to come.
