Accra, May 17, GNA – Accra Hearts of Oak said their team bus was involved in a minor collision with a tricycle on Saturday while travelling to honour their Matchday 33 fixture against FC Samartex 1996.
In a statement, the Phobians confirmed that all players and officials on board were unharmed.
“A few roadside victims affected by the incident were taken to the hospital at Wassa Simpa, where they received treatment and have been discharged.
“Hearts of Oak would like to assure the general public and the football fraternity that all players and officials are safe. We appreciate the concern and support shown to the team,” the club said.
Hearts of Oak are scheduled to face Samartex on Sunday, May 17 at 1500 GMT.
With two matches remaining in the season, Hearts of Oak are out of contention for the league title and are currently third on the table with 51 points, eight points behind leaders Medeama.
Hearts of Oak would be aiming to secure a top two finish before the end of the campaign.
