Opoku-Agyemang inaugurates Schools of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing at EUHS

Accra, July 13, GNA – Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has inaugurated the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing, as well as the new Dental Hospital at the Entrance University of Health Sciences (EUHS) in Accra. 

Vice President Opoku-Agyemang said initiatives like this would help to improve the nation’s doctor-to-population ratio. 

She encouraged more private sector partnerships in health and medical education. 

The Vice President also highlighted recent government initiatives such as the setting up of a Transition Management Team to transfer the University of Ghana Medical (UGMC), which is currently under the Ministry of Health to the University of Ghana, and the launch of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund. 

She urged the students to pursue academic excellence with humility and a sense of service.  

She noted that their future role in healthcare would require not just knowledge, but compassion, and a lifelong commitment to learning. 

The Vice President congratulated Mr Samuel Amo Tobbin, the Chancellor of EUHS and the University community for this step toward improving Ghana’s healthcare system.
