Abesim, Bono, July 1, GNA – Ecobank Ghana has invested $300,000 to promote clean transportation and e-mobility solutions in the country, Mr Mohammed Awudu, the Sunyani Branch Manager of Ecobank Ghana, has said.
He said the Bank was actively promoting the development of Electric Vehicles (EVs), electric bikes and building critical infrastructure of charging stations to improve e-mobility in the country.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, Mr Awudu said besides economic growth, job creation and development the bank sought to provide an “eco-friendly mobility options for customers” too.
He said: “We focus more on providing support for the development of sustainable transportation solutions. Our green transport drive is expected to reduce carbon emissions, improve urban transportation systems, and stimulate job creation in Ghana’s growing green economy”.
Mr Awudu said the bank was also undertaking a nationwide campaign to educate the public on long-term benefit of sustainable transportation, aiming “to boost adoption across different sectors”.
He said: “Our suites of electronic products are available for individuals, micro, small and medium enterprises as well as large corporates and multi-nationals to benefit”.
