Accra, July 12, GNA – The National Association of Ghanaian Communities in Nigeria (NAGHACON) has called on the Presidents of Ghana and Nigeria to intervene over alleged attacks on Ghanaian-owned Jonah Capital Limited’s assets at River Park Estate in Abuja, Nigeria.
The association said the reported destruction of the company’s facilities, if unresolved, could have implications for relations between the two neighbouring countries and urged the authorities to guarantee the safety of Ghanaians connected with the company.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra, Mr Lukman Tetteh, President of NAGHACON, said members of the association had visited the estate and witnessed what he described as the destruction of JonahCapital’s gatehouse, Gallery Clubhouse and other structures.
He alleged that facilities belonging to other companies operating within the estate had not been affected.
”We have observed that several other companies continue to operate undisturbed within the River Park Estate, with the exception of JonahCapital,” he said.
Mr Tetteh expressed concern about the safety and security of Ghanaians associated with the company and said the association was also worried about developments relating to a matter currently before the courts.
“NAGHACON, as the principal body representing Ghanaians in Nigeria, is concerned about this possibility, as well as about the security and safety of the Ghanaians connected with this company and this estate.
“We are concerned that a matter currently before the court is not being allowed to run its course, while these actions continue to be taken against Jonah Captial,” he said.
Mr Tetteh appealed to the Presidents of Ghana and Nigeria to call those responsible for the alleged actions to order, allow the court process to proceed, and ensure the safety and security of the Ghanaians involved.
“It is our hope, as an Association, that this address will draw the necessary attention to the situation at River Park Estate, and that the right steps will be taken to preserve the enduring brotherhood between Ghana and Nigeria,” he said.
Jonah Capital Nigeria Limited, a Ghanaian-owned real estate company, is involved in a longstanding dispute over the River Park Estate in Abuja.
The company has alleged unlawful attempts to take control of its assets and corporate records, claims that have been contested through legal and administrative processes.
The dispute has prompted petitions to Nigerian authorities and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
In 2026, Nigeria’s Attorney-General discontinued a police investigation into alleged forgery and fraud involving the company’s investors, citing the absence of a prima facie case, and directed further investigations into allegations of property damage and intimidation.
The matter remains before the relevant authorities and the courts.
