July 12 (GNA/Adnkronos) – Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, who ruled Qatar from 1995 to 2013, has died at the age of 74.
The official announcement from Doha, reported by the QNA news agency, announces the death of the “father emir” this morning.
He abdicated in 2013. His son, Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, has since taken power.
