We have prepared and groomed our students well for 2025 BECE-Majid Dokurugu

Westline (WR), June 11, GNA –Mr Abdul Majeed Dokurugu, the Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal Chief Executive Officer, says the 3,636 candidates for the area have been well prepared and groomed for academic successes in the 2025 BECE.  

He said, “my assessment and monitoring exercise started a month ago, their mocks showed impressive performances and teachers have covered most subject areas and I believe, they will exhibit lots of intelligence in writing the papers and Allah will give them good successes in return”. 

Mr. Dokurgu together with Mrs. Gloria Biney-Gontoh, the Municipal Director for Education visited the seven centres within the Municipality and therefore called on the students to be bold and confident in their abilities, focus and write well to make the Municipality proud. 

The Municipal Chief Executive Officer said, the government had made available lots of opportunities for their further educational pursuit. 

He mentioned the youth apprenticeship programme, the TVET area, and the STEM programme as some opportunities for the candidates to leverage in higher education and entreated them to make the decision to become better versions of themselves after the first leg on the educational ladder.  

Mr Yakubu Mohammed, the Islamic School Unit Manager urged the candidates to be disciplined avoid cheating that could mar the beauty of the processes adding, “we are praying for you”. 

Madam Gloria Biney-Gontoh, the EKMA Municipal Director of Education, said the Takoradi Technical University Centre would house 2,668 candidates while the Takoradi Senior high school would accommodate 368 for the week-long examinations. 

No pregnancy or special need candidate was identified during the visit.  

Mrs. Biney-Gontoh mentioned that all logistics and security management were intact. 

There would be 105 invigilators on duty, seven supervisors, and 11 assistant supervisors for 87 registered schools. 

The 2025 BECE saw EKMA presenting 1,398 candidates for private, 1638 public schools 

Out of the figure, there are 1,569 girls, a great feat for girls in school and 1,467 boys. 

Each candidate was presented with a pencil, pen and Mathematical set for the examination.
