Ho, June 10, GNA – Candidates in the Ho Municipality will join thousands of students nationwide on Wednesday to sit for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), with final preparations now complete for a smooth exercise.
A total of 3,359 candidates from 110 schools in the municipality will participate in this year’s exams. The schools include 76 public schools and 34 private institutions.
The candidates will write their exams at 11 designated centres, including prominent venues such as Ola Senior High School, Mawuli Senior High School, and Ho Technical University.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ho Municipal Education Directorate, Mr. Elvis Bomasah, confirmed in an interview that preparations have been finalized to ensure a successful and incident-free examination process.
“We have made adequate preparations for a serene and conducive environment for all candidates to write without any challenges,” Mr. Bomasah assured.
In a gesture of support, the Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Mr. Edem Richmond Kpotosu, distributed mathematical sets to all candidates ahead of the exams.
Mr. Kpotosu also pledged scholarship packages for candidates who excel and secure admission into top-tier senior high schools across the country.
Speaking to GNA, several candidates expressed optimism about their performance and pledged to make their families and schools proud.
“We have been well-prepared by our teachers, and we’ll make good grades,” said a hopeful candidate at the Mawuli SHS examination centre.
This year’s candidates will be tested in English Language, Mathematics, Science, Ghanaian Language, Computing, Social Studies, Career Technology, French, Religious and Moral Education, Creative Arts and Design, and Arabic.
The 2025 2025 BECE also marks the introduction of curriculum changes, with Integrated Science now called science, and ICT rebranded as Computing.
The candidates expressed their gratitude to the MP for his support, describing the donation of mathematical sets as timely and encouraging.
