Kumasi, May 31, GNA – Mr. Alexander Kwaku Asafo Agyei, the Registrar of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, has paid a courtesy call on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, at the Manhyia Palace.
The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce himself and to seek the blessings of Asantehene as he embarks on his new role as the Registrar of the Scholarship Secretariat.
He was introduced to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II by Nana Prof. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei Woahene II, Chairman of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation (OOTIIF).
According to the Registrar, he chose to consult the Occupant of the Golden Stool to garner words of wisdom for effective management of the Secretariat.
He assured the Asantehene that, under his stewardship, the Secretariat would implement measures to ensure its operations run seamlessly for the benefit of the nation.
He conveyed to the Asantehene the pressing issue of substantial debts affecting the Secretariat’s operations and solicited his intervention.
“We are all aware of the Asantehene’s influence on the global stage, and I firmly believe that with his support, the Secretariat can successfully mobilize funds for its smooth operation,” he remarked.
He was accompanied by Bartholomew Nambazing (Deputy Registrar), Joseph Essah (Deputy Director, Administration), Priscila Boadi (Deputy Director, Human Resources), and Setor Adanuvor (Deputy Director, Operations).
