Kumasi, Feb. 14, GNA – The Centre for National Culture (CNC) in the Ashanti Region has procured and presented 28 computers and accessories to all its offices in the Metropolitan, Municipal and Districts (MMDs) in the region.
Among the 24 district offices, which received the computers were in Agogo, Asokwa, Agona, Boamen, Bekwai, Ejisu, Juaso, Kodie, Konongo, Mankraso, Mampong, Nkawie, Obuasi, Offinso and Tepa.
They also received some stationary supplies.
The presentation was made during a durbar of all CNC staff across the region, which was held in Kumasi on February 13, 2025.
Some of the computers and accessories were also presented to the office of the Deputy Regional Director of CNC, account office, the administration, as well as the Print and Graphic section of the Visual Arts Department.
Mr. Peter Kofi Marfo, Acting Ashanti Regional Director of the CNC said the computers were procured from its Internally Generated Funds (IGF) to fulfil the CNC mandate of preserving and promoting the country’s cultural heritage.
He said the computers and the accessories would contribute to the effective and efficient cultural programming and documentation and enhance the flow of communication, between the regional office and the offices in the MMDs.
Also, documents would be easily accessible and retrieved as they would be properly stored on the computers.

Recalling other achievements, Mr. Marfo said the Ashanti Regional office through the IGF reroofed its administration block, which was destroyed by rainstorm.
He said the re-roofing was a step towards practising maintenance culture to protect the building from being destroyed.
Mr. Marfo charged all officers in the various districts to put the computer to effective use to preserve and promote culture as mandated.
He also appealed to all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to support the activities of the CNC to ensure that their assigned duties were fulfilled.
Mr. Stephen K. Anderson, the Kwabre East Municipal Officer on behalf of his colleagues thanked the regional office of the CNC for the good gesture and promised to work hard to achieve set goals in the region.
