Kejebril (W/R), Feb. 14, GNA – The Takoradi Area of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has shown appreciation to Mayandy Enterprise, a labour hire company, for its loyalty to the Trust.

The gesture formed part of activities to mark this year’s National Chocolate Day celebration and Valentine’s Day.

The staff and management of the company, located at Kejebril in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region, received SSNIT-branded chocolates and calendars.

Mr Kwasi Opoku-Mintah, the Takoradi Branch Manager of SSNIT, at a ceremony to present the items, said the Trust took advantage of the National Chocolate Day celebration to express gratitude to its members, particularly start-ups for their continuous loyalty.

He said: “In light of this celebration, we are here today at Mayandy Enterprise to celebrate with them, show our appreciation and further strengthen the cordial relationship that exists between SSNIT and our stakeholders.

“This establishment is an indigenous Ghanaian start-up contributing significantly to Ghana’s economic growth. They pay their workers’ contributions promptly, and as such it is important to encourage them to do more,” he added.

Mr Opoku-Mintah stated that the nationwide SSNIT Appreciation Day was to strengthen the Trust’s relationship with businesses, engage with its members and reaffirm its commitment to providing income security for workers.

“Employers are key partners in national development, thus, we are also using today’s event as a platform to encourage all employers, big and small, to secure the future of their workers by enrolling them on the SSNIT Scheme,” he added.

Madam Mary Andra, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mayandy Enterprise, expressed gratitude to the Takoradi Area SSNIT for the recognition, and said it was encouraging to see SSNIT recognise and appreciate start-ups like her outfit.

She said the gesture would not only strengthen their relationship with SSNIT but also reinforce the importance of securing the future of her employees through the timely payment of their SSNIT contributions.

Mr Peter K. Quainoo, a Staff, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, thanked the management of his company for the prompt payment of their contributions to help secure their future during retirement.
