Bongo (U/E), June 25, GNA – Mrs Diana Asoketarige Ayamga, the Bongo District Chief Executive (DCE), has called for stronger collaboration among key stakeholders to accelerate the district’s development agenda and improve the living conditions of residents.
She said meaningful and sustainable development could only be achieved through unity, collective responsibility, and the active participation of all citizens and stakeholders.
Mrs Ayamga made the call during a General Assembly meeting held at Bongo, where she rendered account of her stewardship and highlighted progress made by the Assembly across various sectors.
The meeting brought together Assembly Members, heads of departments, traditional authorities, civil society organisations, development partners, and other stakeholders.
Addressing the gathering, the DCE urged Assembly Members, traditional leaders, development partners, civil society organisations, the private sector, and community members to deepen collaboration in promoting socio-economic development in the district.
She noted that although the Assembly had made significant strides in areas such as administration, security, infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, sanitation, and social intervention programmes, enhanced cooperation remained critical to addressing emerging development challenges.
“The development of the district is a shared responsibility. We need the collective efforts of all stakeholders to achieve our development goals and improve the welfare of our people,” she said.
Mrs Ayamga appealed to development partners and investors to increase their support and investments in the district to help create employment opportunities, particularly for the youth, women, and other vulnerable groups.
She reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance, stressing that it would continue to engage citizens and stakeholders in decision-making processes.
The DCE commended security agencies for maintaining peace and stability in the district, noting that the prevailing calm had created a conducive environment for development and economic activities.
She also outlined measures being implemented to strengthen institutional coordination and improve service delivery, adding that the Assembly remained focused on the effective implementation of government policies and programmes.
On the Assembly’s finances, Mrs Ayamga said prudent financial management and effective mobilisation of internally generated funds remained priorities, assuring residents that available resources were being used judiciously to meet development needs.
She further highlighted ongoing and completed projects across various sectors and assured residents of the Assembly’s continued commitment to prioritising interventions that directly impact their wellbeing.
Stakeholders who participated in the meeting commended the Assembly for its transparency and engagement and pledged their continued support for the development of the district.
