Kadjebi (O/R), June 25, GNA – Mr. Rabiu Awale, Chairman of the NPP Akan Constituency, together with Constituency Secretary Mr. Merigah Abdul Sataru and Nasara Coordinator Mr. Sam Shamuun, have filed their nominations unopposed in the ongoing Constituency Executive Elections.

The three executives were among aspirants who successfully filed their nomination forms ahead of the elections scheduled to elect constituency officers to steer the affairs of the party at the local level.

Mr Bashiru Sabitiou Yeziru, Research and Elections Officer of the NPP in the Akan Constituency, disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Kadjebi in the Oti Region.

He said the unopposed filing of the three officers reflected the confidence party members had in their leadership, commitment and contribution to the growth of the party within the constituency.

Speaking to the GNA, Mr Sataru expressed appreciation to party delegates and members for the trust reposed in him and the other executives.

He said the confidence shown in them served as motivation to work harder towards strengthening the party’s structures and enhancing unity among members.

Mr Sataru, who has served as secretary for two terms (eight years), pledged to continue promoting effective communication, transparency and inclusiveness in the administration of the constituency.

He called on party members to remain united before, during and after the elections to ensure the party emerges stronger and better positioned for the 2028 general elections.

“We are grateful for the support and confidence reposed in us. This is not a victory for individuals but a call to greater service and dedication to the party,” he said.

Mr Shamuun also thanked members of the Nasara wing of the party for their continuous support and pledged to intensify efforts to expand the party’s support base, particularly among the youth and Muslim communities in the constituency.

Mr Awale, who has served as chairman for two terms (eight years), reaffirmed his commitment to providing effective leadership and fostering unity among party members.

He urged contestants to conduct their campaigns in a peaceful and respectful manner to preserve the cohesion of the party.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has opened nominations for its Constituency Executive Elections, with the nomination period running from Monday, June 22 to Wednesday, June 24, as part of its roadmap towards the reorganisation of constituency structures.

The elections form part of the party’s internal reorganisation efforts aimed at strengthening structures and preparing  for future electoral activities.
