Dr Ernest Addison proceeds on terminal leave effective Feb. 3, 2025

Accra, Jan. 31, GNA – Dr Ernest Addison, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, will start his terminal leave effective February 3, 2025, ahead of his retirement from the Bank.

A statement issued in Accra by the Bank said in line with the Bank of Ghana Act, 2002 (Act 612), as amended, his tenure as Governor of the Bank of Ghana will end on March 28, 2025, after he successfully served two full terms.

Dr Addison was appointed on April 3, 2017, and reappointed for a second term on March 29, 2021.

Accordingly, Dr Ernest Addison has decided to take his accumulated leave, effective February 3rd, 2025, ahead of his retirement from the Bank on March 28, 2025.

This has received the approval of President John Mahama.

The Bank of Ghana thanked the Governor for his meritorious and distinguished service to the Bank and the Republic and wished him a restful retirement.

Meanwhile, President John Mahama has nominated Dr. Johnson Asiamah to serve as Governor of the Bank of Ghana, pending approval by the Council of State.
