Accra, Nov. 03, GNA – The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Accra West Region, has intensified engagement with major power consumers to strengthen business relationships, address service delivery concerns and improve electricity supply.
The engagement brought together representatives of businesses, industries and other major electricity consumers, classified by ECG as Special Important Customers (SICs), as part of activities marking the Company’s Customer Service Month in October.
The initiative, held under the theme, “The Extra Mile,” sought to obtain firsthand feedback from the customers, who contribute approximately 40 per cent of the region’s total revenue, while addressing their concerns and providing updates on the Company’s operations.
Discussions focused on ECG’s billing processes and payment channels, the causes of planned and unplanned power outages and measures being implemented to address them, as well as the Company’s digital platforms for improving communication with customers and stakeholders.
As part of the celebration, the regional management team also visited more than 70 SICs at their business premises to recognise their loyalty, continued partnership and contribution to the Company’s operations.
Engineer Sariel Adobea Etwire, General Manager of the Accra West Region, said the visits demonstrated ECG’s appreciation for customers whose consistent patronage, prompt payment of electricity bills and cooperation contributed to its operational success.
She said major electricity consumers played an important role in supporting economic growth and national development, making it necessary for the Company to maintain strong relationships with them.
“Our customers remain at the heart of everything we do. This recognition is a testament to our appreciation for your loyalty, partnership and confidence in ECG.
“We value the important role you play in driving economic growth and national development, and we remain committed to supporting your operations through continuous improvements in our service delivery,” she said.
Mrs Etwire said the region would continue to prioritise responsive and customer-focused services in line with the Customer Service Month theme.
She said going the extra mile required more than assurances, but sustained efforts to improve service reliability, strengthen customer engagement and enhance satisfaction.
Some of the recognised customers expressed appreciation to ECG for the recognition and commended the Company for its efforts to improve service delivery and maintain regular engagement with the business community.
They reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining their partnership with ECG and supporting initiatives that contribute to national development.
The Accra West Region comprises eight operational districts: Ablekuma, Achimota, Amasaman, Bortianor, Dansoman, Kaneshie, Korle Bu and Nsawam.
