Accra, Oct. 1, GNA – The World Assemblies of God Congress Planning Committee has paid a courtesy call on the Ga Mantse, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II
The visit was to officially inform him about the upcoming World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress and extend a formal invitation to the event.
The delegation was led by Rev. Andrews Nelson Awintia, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and Regional Superintendent of the Greater Accra East Region of Assemblies of God, Ghana.
Rev. Awintia represented the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, during the visit.
The meeting formed part of efforts by the organisers to engage key stakeholders and traditional authorities ahead of the global Christian gathering, which is expected to attract participants from across the world.
The 10th Triennial World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress is scheduled to be held in Accra from October 14 to 16, 2026, on the theme: “Commissioned: One Mandate, Every Nation,” based on Matthew 28:18-20.
The three-day congress is expected to bring together thousands of delegates, church leaders and ministers from more than 100 countries for worship, leadership development sessions, fellowship and discussions on the mission of the Church and its contribution to communities worldwide.
Activities for the congress will be held at the Independence Square during the daytime, while evening programmes are scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The congress is anticipated to position Ghana as a major destination for international Christian fellowship and strengthen global partnerships among Assemblies of God churches and ministries.
