Techiman, (Bono East), Oct. 29, GNA- The National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) has engaged stakeholders in the Bono East Region in the review of the 2020 National Security Strategy (NSS).
The day’s engagement, according to the NSCS, aimed at identifying emerging security threats in the region and collecting inputs from the stakeholders in the review process.
It was attended by various Heads of Departments and Agencies, government institutions, security services, civil society organisations and other stakeholders.
Addressing the opening session of the meeting at Techiman, Mr George Loh, the Director, Legal at the NSCS stressed the need to review the 2020 NSS to respond to and address emerging national security threats.
He said NSS ought to be a human-centered document, saying that security was not just about police or the army, urging stakeholders to contribute to the review process.
“Everyone is a major stakeholder in the nation’s security journey”, he stated and called for everybody’s contribution towards safeguarding national security.
Mr Beatrice Osei Asare, the Bono East Regional Development Planning Officer, described the review process as laudable, and entreated the stakeholders to participate fully.
