Ampain (W/R), Oct. 01, GNA – Mr Joseph Nelson, the Western Regional Minister, has advised Ministers of the Gospel and believers not to allow the beauty and glamour of church edifices to determine their faith in God.
He said such magnificent buildings were not the panacea to their problems, but rather how committed and prayerful they remained to God.
He, therefore, encouraged them to be steadfast and lean on God in times of misery.
Mr. Nelson was speaking at a durbar to climax the 90-day fasting and prayers of the Blessed King Ministry International at Ampain in the Ellembelle District.
The annual event drew hundreds of believers from far and near who had benefitted from the spirited healing ministry and the philanthropic gesture of Mr. Joseph Whajah Afful, General Overseer of the Blessed King Ministry International at Ampain.
Mr Nelson, who joined the prayer and fasting session some years back then as Western Regional Secretary of the NDC, said he continued to fellowship with the Ministry even as a Regional Minister.
He identified Mr Whajah Afful as someone who did not commercialise the ministry and advised leaders of the flock who put money and material gains before God to desist from the practice.
He said the work of God required sacrifice, commitment, patience and endurance.
Mr Nelson said before some Christians joined a church, they looked at the building and its magnificence, adding that the edifice could not determine their faith in God.
The Regional Minister donated GH¢5,000 cash and pledged 100 bags of cement to support the church building.
Mr Joseph Armah Agyekum, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ellembelle, thanked Mr. Whajah Afful as the spiritual gateway of Ellembelle who continued to intercede for leaders of the District.
He also testified that the Minister had not commercialised the Gospel and did not outwit those who come there to seek the face of God.
Mr. Armah Agyekum also donated GH¢5,000 in support the church building.
Nana Nyamekeh Fofole, Chief of Ampain, on behalf of Awulae Blay IX, the Paramount Chief of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area, said the traditional council was aware of the spiritual healing and material support the sick and needy continued to benefit from the Ministry.
He asked Christians to support the work of God by donating generously towards the completion of the church edifice.
On behalf of the traditional council, Nana Nyamekeh Fofole supported the Ministry with GH¢2,000 cash donation.
Nana Etwe Kpanyinli, the Chief of Aiyinasi, said people asked in Biblical times whether anything good could come from Nazareth, yet Jesus Christ emerged.
He said it was not about luxurious and posh temples but how clean the hearts of Christians may be pleasing to God.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview, Mr. Joseph Whajah Afful, General Overseer of the Blessed King Ministry, said the Lord spoke to him in a dream in 2014 and he had to leave Accra to start the Ministry.
He said the whole ministry was about fasting and prayers usually 40 days between July and August but the Lord directed him to proclaim a fast of 90 days this year.
Mr Whajah Afful asked Christians to believe in God and move with patience and understanding.
He advised Christians to combine physical and spiritual healing and be wary of the so-called men of God who outwit and exploit them out of ignorance without solutions to their problems.
