Big Ada, Oct. 29, GNA — Djetse Nene Abram Kabu Akuaku III, the Ada Paramount Chief, has withdrawn an authority previously delegated to Nene Ayiku Adjovu I, the Chief of Matsekope.

This follows his alleged failure to honour invitations to appear before the Paramount Chief and a committee investigating a land sale dispute.

The directive also bars Nene Adjovu from acting in the name of, or on the authority of the Paramount Chief or the paramount stool within the Ada Traditional Area until the matter is determined.

A letter issued by a committee constituted by the Paramount Chief and President of the Ada Traditional Council, said the decision followed repeated invitations to Nene Ayiku Adjovu to assist in resolving a dispute concerning the sale of land at Matsekope to Dr Nii Kotei Dzani and his assigns.

The letter, signed by Nomo Jonathan Dokusto, the Secretary and Recorder of the committee, who doubles as the secretary to the Paramountcy, said the chief had failed to attend the meetings and had offered no explanation or apology for his absence.

The committee described the conduct as disrespectful to the office of the Paramount Chief and the Ada Traditional Council and also a breach of the chief’s customary oath, to appear when called upon.

The committee, constituted to enquire into and resolve the matter, comprised Nene Okumo IV, Divisional Chief of the Dangbebiawe Clan, as Chairman; Nene Adela Haviatse Vleh II, Divisional Chief of the Kudzragbe Clan; Nene Kpevu Brempong IV, Divisional Chief of the Kabiawe Kponor Clan; and Asafoatsengua Okisseh Asiedu Agbloe VI of the Lomobiawe Clan.

The letter further stated that the Paramount Chief would not deal with Nene Ayiku Adjovu in any matter requiring the recognition, authority or participation of the paramount stool until the matter had been determined.

Copies of the letter were sent to the principal stoolfathers involved in the land transaction and the Ada divisional command of the Ghana Police Service.
