Accra, Oct. 30, GNA – Hundreds of young adults of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gathered in Accra for a special screening of Dedicate, a global video series exploring faith in Jesus Christ through the experiences of seven young adults from different countries.

The screening, held at the Christiansborg Stake Center within the Accra Ghana Temple in North Ridge, featured the fourth episode of the six-part series.

Ghana was represented by Favour Onyinyechukwu Okeke, a young adult from the Greater Accra Region, alongside participants from Brazil, France, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines and the United States.

The series follows the seven participants as they explore the renovated Salt Lake Temple in Utah and reflect on the importance of faith in Jesus Christ in their lives.

Speaking at the screening, Ms. Okeke described her participation as an unexpected privilege and an opportunity to share the experiences of young single adults in Africa with a global audience.

She said she volunteered after prospective participants were invited to share their personal stories and experiences.

“It’s honestly a great privilege. It’s an honour, and I feel very humble to represent Africa in this series, because my life is showing what the life of an average young single adult in this area is all about,” she said.

She said the production experience had been emotional and inspiring, adding that it had strengthened her faith and testimony of Jesus Christ.

The fourth episode explores the extensive renovation of the Salt Lake Temple, and the engineering measures adopted to strengthen the historic structure against earthquakes.

With the assistance of YouTuber Zack Nelson and his wife, the participants examined temple models using an earthquake simulator to understand the structural reinforcement.

The episode highlights 98 base isolators supporting the temple’s estimated 188 million pounds (about 85,000 tonnes) structure, as well as approximately 262 miles (422 kilometres) of reinforcing cables.

It draws parallels between the temple’s physical foundation and the spiritual foundations needed to withstand life’s challenges, with the base isolators symbolising Jesus Christ and the cables representing prayer, scripture study and temple worship.

Ms. Okeke said the message reminded her that people experienced personal challenges and setbacks but could find strength through Jesus Christ, adding that nobody was beyond God’s reach despite their imperfections.

Nana Yaa Agyeiwaa, a Church member in Accra, said watching the episode with other members offered a more engaging experience than following the earlier episodes individually on YouTube.

She said the series had encouraged her to remain committed to temple attendance and could help the Church connect with younger audiences through digital platforms.

Mr. Brad Tate, a member of the production crew, said the series brought together young adults from different cultural backgrounds whose experiences reflected a shared desire to strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ. He expressed hope that viewers would draw inspiration from its message of faith and spiritual resilience.

Dedicate was introduced by President Dallin H. Oaks at the conclusion of the Church’s General Conference on October 4, 2026, as part of the global Salt Lake Temple Celebration. The episodes are available on the Church’s YouTube channel and Gospel Library application in several languages.
