Busunya (Bono East), Aug. 26, GNA – The Nkoranza North District Directorate of Agriculture in the Bono East Region has distributed 1,500 bags of fertiliser to registered farmers in the district to enhance crop and vegetable production.
In all, 70 registered farmers, mostly engaged in vegetable cultivation, received the fertiliser.
Mr Patrick Effah-Patoo, Nkoranza North District Chief Executive, presented the fertiliser to the farmers at a ceremony in Busunya, the district capital, and urged them to use it for its intended purpose.
He noted that agriculture remained the backbone of the economy, stressing the Government’s commitment to supporting farmers with essential inputs to enhance their farming activities.
Mr Effah-Patoo expressed the hope that the fertiliser would enable the farmers to improve their crop yields, saying the Directorate had already distributed 1,500 bags of fertiliser to some farmers in the area.
He assured that all registered farmers in the area would also receive fertiliser.
