KAAF University unveils 20th Anniversary Animation Logo

Gomoa Fetteh Kakraba (C/R), Aug. 20, GNA – The KAAF University has officially unveiled its 20th Anniversary Animation Logo, with an appeal to all stakeholders and its alumni to fully take part in the celebration of the gains made over the years, strategise and donate for its future. 

The Vice-President of Ghana, Professor, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, who was the special guest of honour, unveiled the logo at the15th congregation of the university together with Mr Michael Aidoo, the Chancellor, and the Management of the University ahead of the main anniversary to be held in 2027. 

The anniversary will feature activities such as alumni mentorship programmes, lectures, history of the University, inter-faculty games, fundraising towards additional developmental projects, among others and to reflect on the all-inclusive nature of the university. 

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang congratulated the KAAF University community on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama for their transition into a fully-fledged university.  

“It is about time we recognise the efforts of those who used to mentor you, and as you are now independent you have the responsibility of creating and sustaining confidence of the public in the products of KAAF and have no doubt that you will rise to the occasion,” the Vice-President said.  

She said the theme: “Transforming lives, Transforming Ghana,” reminded all that national development commenced with the development of individuals, hence the need to ensure that the younger generation developed their God given talents and potentials to able them to contribute meaningfully in national development. 

Later at a media engagement, the Chancellor thanked the Almighty God for bringing the University that far and assured that they would sustain their vision of preparing students to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering, Creative Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) fields of study and research to succeed in the 21st century as leaders and innovators.  

Prof. Kwame Boasiako Omane-Antwi, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, KAAF University said the event was not only the celebration of the graduation of the students into the next phase of their lives, but also the graduation of the University into a new era of institutional maturity, confidence and self-reliance. 

He said the achievements of the University represented far more than an institutional independence, but a culmination of years of deliberate planning, strategic investment in academic quality, sound governance and the unwavering commitment of the Board of Directors, Government Council, Management, Faculty, staff, students, and all stakeholders.   

He said they were proud that the University had fully matured and was capable of delivering quality, high level education that met both national and international standards and their elevation demonstrated that when institutions were guided by vision, integrity, discipline and perseverance, they grew from independence to confidence, promise to performance and aspiration to excellence. 

“We acknowledge with sincere gratitude the invaluable role played by our mentor universities during our formative years, their partnership laid a strong foundation upon which we continue to build.”  

He stated that investment in higher education was an investment in national development, and every graduate represented a resource for Ghana’s progress, pursues excellence continues to national transformation.  

 Later in an interview with Mr Aidoo, he thanked the Almighty God for how far he had brought the University and assured that it would further its vision of preparing students to excel in STEAM fields of study and research. 

Dr Linda Anane Donkor, the Registrar of the University, said the significant milestone was not only a testament to KAAF University’s unwavering commitment to quality education and innovation, but also represented compliance with a major piece of legislation and regime change that would ensure that it continued in operation to serve its past, present and growing prospective domestic and international students.  

She said the University officially began when it submitted its application for a Presidential Charter in April 2022 and after rigorous assessments and evaluations submitted its final response to GTEC in 2024, paving the way for the eventual granting of its Charter. 

Dr Donkor reassured its past, present and prospective students as well as all key stakeholders that the university would continue to serve their varied needs, partner with like-minded capital development institutions, and empower students to excel globally, as standards required of autonomy and excellence in tertiary education. 

“KAAF has consistently continued to strive to provide world-class education to equip students for both the local and global job markets and we don’t introduce programmes that are not relevant to societal demands,” he assured.
