Accra, July 15, GNA – Zeepay Ghana Limited has assured customers, agents, merchants and business partners of an orderly and transparent transition after the Bank of Ghana revoked its Dedicated Electronic Money Issuer (DEMI) Licence.
The Bank of Ghana revoked the licence with immediate effect on July 14, 2026, under Section 13 of the Payment Systems and Services Act, 2019 (Act 987), citing multiple regulatory breaches and the company’s persistent failure to comply with regulatory directives and the terms and conditions of its licence.
A statement issued by the company in Accra on Wednesday said Zeepay was working closely with the central bank and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a responsible transition process.
The company acknowledged concerns arising from the revocation and thanked its customers, employees, agents, merchants, business partners and the public for their patience, understanding and continued cooperation.
Zeepay said it remained committed to “acting responsibly, maintaining open and transparent communication, and working constructively with the Bank of Ghana towards an orderly resolution.”
It said further verified updates would be communicated through its official communication channels as they became available.
Zeepay Ghana Limited provides digital payment, mobile wallet and cross-border remittance services through partnerships with mobile money operators, financial institutions and international remittance companies.
The company said it would continue to cooperate with the regulator and relevant stakeholders to ensure an orderly resolution of the matter while keeping the public informed through its official communication channels.
