Accra, July 23, GNA – Dr Clement Apaak, the Deputy Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Builsa South, has said the recently approved $300 million loan facility from the World Bank Group, will be used to transform secondary education infrastructure and help phase out the double track system.
Speaking to the media ahead of the Mid-Year Budget Review, Dr Apaak explained that the loan would be invested in expanding classroom blocks, dormitories, and other facilities, to accommodate growing enrolment under the Free Senior High School programme.
He stated that the government, had allocated GH¢4.2 billion in the 2026 Budget to the Senior High School Policy, particularly towards feeding, ensuring that students and headteachers had no cause for agitation.
The transformation was central to ending the double track system and improving quality education delivery, he said.
Dr Apaak assured that the government’s commitment to education remained firm, with resources directed at both infrastructure and welfare to sustain the policy.
