Ho (V/R), July 11, GNA – Voting has commenced peacefully in the Ho Central Constituency as delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) elect new constituency executives to lead the party over the next four years.

A total of 1,933 delegates assembled at the OLA Senior High School polling centre to elect 11 constituency executives from 32 aspirants.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Richard Kwadekpo, Chairman of the Election Committee and representative of the party’s National Steering Committee, said the exercise formed part of the NPP’s nationwide constituency executive elections.

He said voting started promptly at 0800 hours in line with the party’s electoral guidelines.

“As stipulated in our guidelines, voting started exactly at 0800 hours, and I was privileged to cast the first ballot. The process has been peaceful, orderly and transparent, and delegates have conducted themselves very well,” he said.

Mr Kwadekpo described the election as “a family affair,” noting that all aspirants had been given equal opportunity to campaign and present their messages to delegates before the polls.

He said delegates were expected to elect leaders who would steer the affairs of the Ho Central Constituency for the next four years.

“So far, there have been no incidents of violence or confusion, and we hope the peaceful atmosphere will continue until the close of polls at 1600 hours, after which counting and the declaration of results will begin,” he added.

Mr Kwadekpo commended delegates, aspirants and party officials for the peaceful conduct that had characterised the party’s internal electoral processes, from the membership registration exercise to the polling station, electoral area and constituency elections.

He said the transparent and credible nature of the process reflected the maturity and discipline of party members.

Mr Kwadekpo expressed confidence that delegates would elect competent and committed executives capable of strengthening the party’s structures and improving its electoral fortunes ahead of the 2028 general election.

He said the NPP remained focused on returning to power under the leadership of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
