Dambai (O/R), July 24, GNA – The Oti Regional Elections Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially announced the outcome of the vetting and balloting exercise for aspirants contesting various regional executive positions ahead of the party’s regional executive elections.
The announcement, signed by the Chairman of the Oti Regional Elections Committee, Mr George Krobea Asante, confirmed to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), that all qualified aspirants successfully went through the vetting process and have been assigned ballot positions for the elections.
According to the Committee, the exercise formed part of the party’s preparations to ensure a transparent, credible and orderly electoral process for the election of new regional executives to steer the affairs of the party in the Oti Region.
The keenly contested position of Regional Chairman will feature four aspirants. They are Madam Sherifa Sekyere Tijani, who secured the first position on the ballot, followed by Mr Collins Yaw Ahenkora in the second position, Dr Frank Yirenkyi in the third position and Mr Evans Yaw Dapaah in the fourth position.
For the position of First Vice Chairman, the ballot order is Madam Justine Okyerewa Okyere, Mr Francis Asuka Boakye, Mr Maxwell Qophy Blagodzi and Mr Stephen Benyaseh Alewabah.
Three aspirants will contest the position of Second Vice Chairman. They are Mr Peter Attafoe, Madam Doris Nana Yaa Abronyeh and Mr Derrick Mensah Bonsu.
The contest for Regional Secretary will see four aspirants: Mr Frank Awuah, Mr Felix Owusu-Gyimah, Mr Jonathan Manu Akpabeh and Madam Emefa Obro-Adibo Janet.
For the position of Deputy Regional Secretary, Mr Patrick Wisdom Krampah, Mr Adams Abubakar and Mr Freeman Adolph Dankwa will compete.
The three aspirants contesting for the position of Regional Organiser are Mr Abubakar Salifu, Mr Emmanuel Obonda and Mr Charles Gyamfi Boateng.
The position of Regional Treasurer will be contested by Mr Daniel Asiedu and Mr Nicholas Baafi Boadi, while the Regional Women’s Organiser position will be contested by Madam Alice Mensah and Madam Olivia Yawa Aglago.
For the Regional Communications Officer position, delegates will choose between Mr Musah Seidu and Mr Eric Quaku Anane.
The contest for the Regional Nasara Organiser position will be between Mr Shaibu Muhammed Habib and Mr Aliu Sharubutu.
The Regional Elections Committee urged all aspirants, delegates and supporters to conduct their campaigns peacefully and in accordance with the party’s rules and regulations.
It also encouraged party members to remain united before, during and after the elections, stressing that the process should strengthen the party ahead of future political activities.
The Committee reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a free, fair, transparent and credible election that reflects the will of delegates in the Oti Region.
