Accra, July 26, GNA – United States President Donald Trump has thanked King Mohammed VI of Morocco after the Tiznit-Dakhla highway was named the: “Donald Trump Highway.”
The US President expressed his appreciation in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.
“Thank you to Highly Respected Mohammed VI, the King of Morocco – Such a Great Honor! I look forward to traveling the entire length of this Great Highway someday, hopefully soon!,” Mr Trump wrote.
The post was accompanied by a nearly four-minute video titled “Donald J. Trump Highway: The Peace Road for Prosperity,” highlighting the highway’s scope, strategic importance and technical features.
The video presents the road as a major infrastructure project designed to promote economic growth, regional connectivity and trade.

The Tiznit-Dakhla highway stretches approximately 1,055 kilometres, linking the southern Moroccan city of Tiznit with Dakhla through Guelmim and Laayoune.
The project involved widening and upgrading Morocco’s National Road One and is regarded as one of the country’s largest infrastructure investments in its southern provinces.
The highway forms part of Morocco’s broader development strategy for its southern regions, improving the movement of people and goods, while strengthening links with West Africa through the Atlantic corridor.
It is also expected to support tourism, commerce and logistics in the area.
The naming of the highway comes against the backdrop of close relations between Morocco and the United States.
