Accra, July 20, GNA–A new book dedicated to the memory of two late Christian leaders, Prophet John Mensah and Most Rev. George Nikoi Kotey, has been launched in Accra to honour their contributions to the growth of Christianity and their service to Ghana.
According to Mr. Adotei Abraham, the author of “Ghana, A blessing in the Midst of the Earth,” said the publication sought to preserve the legacy of the two men of God and make their teachings known to Ghanaians and the wider world.
Speaking at the launch, he said the occasion was not about celebrating him as an author but recognising the lives and sacrifices of the two late mentors.
He said, “Today is not about me. We are celebrating Prophet John Mensah and Most Rev. George Nikoi Kotey, two humble servants of God of blessed memory, whose lives and teachings continue to inspire many.”
Mr. Abraham expressed the hope that the memories of the two leaders would remain blessed and that future generations would learn from their commitment to God’s kingdom.
He recounted that his passion for literature began during his school days through books used in class and prizes he received for leadership and service.
He said, “I grew up with a love for literature through the books used in school and books I received as prizes. One of the most valuable was ‘In the Morning of My Life’ by Tom Neederton, which inspired me greatly.”
The author said his interest in Christian literature was further nurtured in the 1990s by his senior pastor at Labone in Accra, who encouraged him to develop his writing talent.
He said he later decided to devote his writing career to Christian literature.
Mr. Abraham also paid tribute to Most Rev. George Nikoi Kotey, recalling that he served as one of his personal assistants in 2009 and supported him in preparing articles, letters and speeches.
He disclosed that the journey towards the publication began in February 2007 with a series of weekly articles on the theme, “Ghana: Know Who You Are, Where You Are, and Where You Should Be,” published in a weekend newspaper, with additional articles appearing in the Daily Graphic.
According to him, the growing public interest in the articles earned him an invitation to speak at the Ghana in Prophecy Conference on June 24, 2011.
He said although time constraints prevented him from presenting all the available materials at the conference, he promised to produce a comprehensive publication on Ghana’s elevated position.
The promise, he noted, was reaffirmed during the Jubilee Celebrations of the Kingdom Centre Transfer to Ghana in July 2012 at the Rev. Dr. Chris Hesse International Conference Centre in Accra.
Mr. Abraham said he completed the first draft of the manuscript in late 2022 and submitted it to Most Rev. George Nikoi Kotey for review and comments.
He explained that in early 2024 he felt compelled to complete the project, believing that any further delay would deprive readers of important historical and spiritual insights.
The author said the book explores how the centre of the world is determined and presents arguments supporting the claim that Ghana is the centre of the earth and therefore qualifies to inherit the promised blessing.
He encouraged readers to begin with the appendix, which contained details of the 2011 Ghana in Prophecy Conference, to better appreciate the context of the publication.
The book is expected to preserve the legacy of service, humility and Christian leadership exemplified by the two late ministers and inspire future generations.
