Keta (V/R), Oct. 6, GNA – Anlo State School in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region has received a new two-unit kindergarten (KG) block with ancillary facilities to improve teaching and learning.
The facility was commissioned and handed over to the school and community at a ceremony attended by Mr Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, Member of Parliament (MP) for Keta; Mr Wisdom Seade, Keta Municipal Chief Executive (MCE); chiefs and other stakeholders.
Mr Seade said educational projects were being constructed across the region and thanked the government and the Member of Parliament for their support.
He disclosed that the Assembly had ordered furniture for the new facilities, including about 500 hexagonal tables and 600 dual desks, and urged parents to send all children of school-going age to school.
Mr Seade also appealed to the community, teachers and students to take good care of the facility and maintain it so that it could support education in the area for many years.


Mr Gakpey said the government was committed to restoring and reforming the education sector through the provision of infrastructure and logistics to improve educational standards in communities.
Mr Raphael Mawuko Amenyo, Keta Municipal Director of Education, who received the facility on behalf of the community, urged parents to send their children of school-going age to school.
Hanua Bina of Abutiakope, who spoke on behalf of the chiefs, thanked the government for the facility and commended Mr Amenyo Kwame Kattey and his firm, HAB Amenyo Company Limited, for completing the project on schedule.
Some teachers, students and residents of Abutiakope who spoke to the Ghana News Agency expressed joy over the project and expressed the hope that the community would benefit from other development projects.
