CEO of Warrior King Watches receives Innovative Excellence Award at HAPAwards

Accra, Oct. 13, GNA – Mr Patrick Amofah, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Warrior King Watches, a Ghanaian watch brand, has received the Innovative Excellence Award held at Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

The award, held from October 7 to 9, 2026, recognises Mr Amofah’s contribution to advancing African craftsmanship through watchmaking and his efforts to position Ghana within the global luxury watch industry.

The awards ceremony marks the 10th anniversary of the Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards (HAPAwards), a statement from HAPAwards issued to the Ghana News Agency in Accra said.

Mr Amofah dedicated the honour to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, acknowledging his support and encouragement for the growth of the indigenous brand.

He also acknowledged the influence of his late father and his mother, whose gifts of watches during his childhood nurtured his interest in timepieces.

The HAPAwards brought together personalities from Africa and the diaspora to celebrate achievements in entertainment, fashion, business and the creative industries.

Mr Amofah’s recognition reflects a journey from a personal interest in watch repair to establishing a Ghanaian luxury watch brand that combines African heritage with contemporary design.
His interest in horology, the study and art of timekeeping, deepened after the death of his father in 2017, when he inherited his father’s watches but struggled to find the expertise needed to restore them.

The desire to repair his late father’s broken watch subsequently inspired him to explore watchmaking and pursue the ambition of producing luxury timepieces in Ghana.
That personal quest eventually led to the establishment of Warrior King Watches, a brand that seeks to tell African stories through its designs while promoting Ghanaian craftsmanship and innovation.

Mr Amofah’s relationship with the Asantehene also forms part of the brand’s development.
He has previously presented Otumfuo Osei Tutu II with bespoke solid-gold timepieces incorporating elements inspired by Asante heritage.
The Asantehene has also acknowledged the brand’s craftsmanship and encouraged support for indigenous businesses, according to information provided by the brand.

Under Mr Amofah’s leadership, Warrior King Watches has developed collections inspired by Ghana’s history and cultural identity, with an ambition to contribute to the growth of African watchmaking.
The award is expected to further highlight the potential of Ghanaian craftsmanship and the efforts of local entrepreneurs to establish brands with international reach.

For Mr Amofah, the recognition marks both an acknowledgement of his journey and a renewed commitment to advancing Ghanaian watchmaking and showcasing African creativity on the global stage.
