Dambai (O/R), July 6, GNA – A total of 1,325 delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Nkwanta South Constituency are expected to cast their ballots on Saturday to elect a new set of constituency executives to steer the affairs of the party in the area.
The election forms part of the party’s nationwide constituency executive elections aimed at strengthening its grassroots structures and repositioning the party ahead of future political activities and the 2028 general election.
The delegates, drawn from the constituency polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, council of elders, patrons, TESCON, recognised party wings and other eligible categories, will vote to fill key executive positions.
The positions include Constituency Chairman, First Vice Chairman, Second Vice Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Organiser, Women’s Organiser, Youth Organiser, Treasurer, Nasara Coordinator and Communications Officer.
Mr Bernard Larry, Constituency chairman and other Party officials say all logistical and security arrangements have been completed to ensure a peaceful, transparent and credible election.
The contest is expected to be keenly fought as aspirants intensify their campaigns to win the confidence of delegates, with many promising to strengthen party unity, improve grassroots mobilisation and enhance the NPP’s electoral fortunes in the constituency.
Political observers believe the outcome of the election will significantly shape the party’s rebuilding efforts in Nkwanta South, where executives are expected to lead membership expansion, coordinate constituency activities and prepare the party for upcoming electoral contests.
The NPP has urged delegates to conduct themselves peacefully throughout the election and to uphold the democratic values of the party by accepting the outcome of the polls in good faith.
The constituency election follows the successful vetting of aspirants after 34 party members picked nomination forms to contest various executive positions.
Party leadership has expressed confidence that the election will deepen internal democracy, promote unity, and produce a competent executive capable of repositioning the NPP in the Nkwanta South Constituency.
