NPP Constituency election: 721 NPP Delegates to vote in Lambussie Constituency

Lambussie, (UW/R), July 08, GNA – A total of 721 delegates from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Lambussie constituency are expected to cast their votes on Saturday to elect new constituency executives. 

The election forms part of the party’s nationwide election of leaders to steer the affairs of the party at all levels for the next four years. 

The exercise was aimed at strengthening the grassroots structures and repositioning the party ahead of future political activities and the 2028 general election. 

The delegates drawn from the constituency included polling station executives, electoral coordinators, constituency executives, patrons, elders and other statutory members in line with the party’s constitution. 

The positions being contested at the constituency level were Chairman; First Vice Chairman; Second Vice Chairman; Communication Officer; Secretary; Assistant Secretary; Organiser; Women’s Organiser; Youth Organiser; Treasurer and Nasara Coordinator. 

In all, 14 members of the party had been vetted to contest various executive positions. 

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Lambussie, Mr Daniel Adamus, Lambussie Constituency Secretary of the NPP, disclosed that eleven positions were unopposed, while one position, which is the organiser position, was contested by two candidates. 

He said all the arrangements had been put in place to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and orderly electoral process. 

Mr Adamus urged the delegates to conduct themselves with discipline and unity, stressing that the outcome of the election should strengthen the party in the constituency ahead of the 2028 General Election. 

He also called on supporters of all the aspirants to act decisively to ensure that nothing would undermine the credibility of the process to ensure the NPP party remained united in the constituency. 

He further commended the eleven persons who stepped down for the incumbents since their decision was in line with the needed party unity and cooperation to win the 2028 General Elections in the constituency.
