Accra, July 17, GNA – Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, has called for stronger cooperation between Ghana and France for the mutual benefit of both countries.
Speaking at the celebration of France’s National Day in Accra, she said deepening people-to-people relations between the two nations would create more opportunities for mutual growth and development.
The Minister, who joined the people of France to commemorate their National Day, reflected on the enduring values of liberty, equality and fraternity, which she said continue to inspire democratic societies around the world.
She noted that those ideals were particularly relevant at a time when many societies faced threats to democracy and the rights and freedoms of their citizens were increasingly under strain.
Madam Gomashie appealed to stronger nations to continue supporting developing countries in addressing shared global challenges, stressing that international cooperation remained essential for sustainable development and global peace.
She expressed Ghana’s appreciation to the Government and people of France for their longstanding partnership and cooperation across various sectors, including culture, education, development and economic relations.
The Minister further encouraged France to deepen people-to-people exchanges with Ghana and collaborate to create more opportunities that would benefit the citizens and economies of both countries.
Madam Gomashie also commended the French Ambassador to Ghana for her commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting cultural cooperation between the two nations.
The celebration brought together diplomats, government officials, development partners and members of the diplomatic community to commemorate France’s National Day and reaffirm the longstanding friendship between Ghana and France.
