Moscow, July 17 (RIA Novosti/GNA) – At least seven people were killed and another nine were injured in US strikes on the southern Iranian city of Bandar e Khamir, Iranian broadcaster Press TV reported.
On Thursday, US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the beginning of a new series of US strikes against Iranian targets.
Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum on the night of June 18, which aimed to end the conflict that had begun on February 28. However, the US military has carried out several attacks on Iran since July 8. US Central Command claimed this was in retaliation for Iran’s actions against commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
The Iranian military responded with strikes on US bases in several Middle Eastern countries. Tehran also accused Washington of violating the ceasefire agreement. On July 9, US President Donald Trump declared the ceasefire no longer in effect.
