Jukwa(C/R), June 3, GNA-Traders at Denkyira Jukwa in the Twifo Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District of the central region, are appealing for the Assembly’s intervention to address dire sanitary conditions, in their market.
Despite paying taxes and tolls, traders complained that the conditions at the market was bad and urged that government construct a modern market facility to help address the unacceptable insanitary conditions there.
Madam Abena Kumi, Ms Adwoa Bondziwa, both traders, told the GNA in an interview that the market needed to be upgraded to enable traders work under conducive environment.
Assembly member for Jukwa East Electoral Area, Mrs Veronica Kwansah refuted claims of negligence, noting recent cleaning of the market and promised more solutions.
She also highlighted issues with traders operating along the Jukwa-Cape Coast Road, despite attempts to regulate them because it was risky doing business there.
District Chief Executive, Mr Patrick Fiable, when contacted, credited the current administration for the recent general improvements in sanitation and emphasised ongoing efforts to enhance district development.
