Matse (V/R), June 5, GNA – Togbega Osei Tutu VII, Paramount Chief of the Matse Traditional Area, has donated GHS20,000 to support efforts to resolve persistent water challenges at the Volta Technical Institute (VTI), a legacy project initiated by his predecessor.

The donation, made on June 2, 2026, was presented to executives of the Matse Citizens Association (MACA) during a brief ceremony in the traditional area.

The amount formed part of a financial contribution received from the Presidency following Togbega Osei Tutu VII’s official visit to the Jubilee House to meet President John Dramani Mahama.

Presenting the donation, Togbega Osei Tutu VII said addressing the water difficulties confronting the institute remained a priority because the project was dear to the vision of the late paramount chief, who championed educational development and community advancement.

He noted that ensuring a reliable water supply at the institution would improve teaching and learning conditions while safeguarding the welfare of students and staff.

“This contribution is dedicated to supporting the water project at Volta Technical Institute, which remains an important legacy of the late Togbega Osei Tutu VI. It is our collective responsibility to sustain and complete initiatives that will benefit future generations,” he said.

Receiving the donation on behalf of MACA, Mr Nestor Percy Galley, a frontline member of the association, expressed profound gratitude to the Paramount Chief for the gesture and his continued commitment to community development.

He described the donation as timely and significant, saying it would contribute immensely towards efforts to provide a lasting solution to the institute’s water supply challenges.

Warrant Officer William Tekpo (Rtd) and Superintendent Albert Deletsa (Rtd), who were part of the MACA delegation, also commended Togbega Osei Tutu VII for demonstrating leadership and dedication to the welfare of the people and the advancement of education within the traditional area.

The executives pledged to ensure the funds were used for the intended purpose and reaffirmed their commitment to collaborating with stakeholders to complete the water project and preserve the developmental legacy of the late Togbega Osei Tutu VI.
