Adjei Kojo, June 10, GNA- Mr Ludwig Teye Totimeh, Tema West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has outlined a series of completed and planned infrastructure projects aimed at improving healthcare, education, roads, drainage, and security within the municipality.
Speaking at a Public Financial Management (PFM) Town Hall Meeting held at the Pentecost Church in Adjei Kojo, Mr Totimeh said the Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA) remained committed to improving service delivery and enhancing the quality of life of residents.
He said despite prevailing economic challenges, the assembly had undertaken a number of development projects in 2025, including the construction of a culvert and approach-filling works linking Japan City in Community 23 to King Solomon in Adjei Kojo, the construction of a storm drain along the Ghana Water Limited roads in Adjei Kojo, and the gravelling of the Nii Ankrah Road towards the Abattoir Bridge.
Other projects completed or ongoing include the dredging and desilting of streams and drains in Adjei Kojo, Klagon, and Lashibi; the construction of a four-unit teachers’ bungalow at the Adjei Kojo School Complex; a two-storey, 12-unit classroom block at Sraha School; a clinic at Adjei Kojo, renovation and furnishing of the Klagon Clinic, and the construction of a police post at Adjei Kojo.
Mr Totimeh announced that key projects earmarked for 2026 include the construction of a maternity block at the Adjei Kojo Health Centre and rectangular drains at Global, Sun City, Kanewo, and around Amen Scientific at Klagon, as well as the procurement and maintenance of streetlights across the municipality.
He added that the assembly would also undertake gravelling, surfacing, and reshaping of major and inner roads within Adjei Kojo and Klagon to improve accessibility and reduce flooding.
The MCE appealed to residents to support the assembly’s development agenda by paying their property and basic rates promptly, noting that internally generated funds were critical for financing community projects.
According to him, rate payment compliance in Adjei Kojo increased by only 35 per cent in 2025, and the assembly was targeting 80 per cent to sustain development efforts.
Mr Totimeh also urged residents to protect public infrastructure and volunteer their expertise through the assembly’s zonal development committees to support local development initiatives.
He assured residents that no community within the municipality would be left behind in the assembly’s development agenda and invited participants to contribute ideas and suggestions during the open forum session.
