Accra, June 08, GNA – President John Dramani Mahama will today, hold bilateral talks with his Belarusian counterpart, President Aleksandr Grigorievich Lukashenko in Minsk, Belarus.
A statement issued by Ghana’s Presidency said the event, which would take place at the Presidential Palace in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, would precede a high-level bilateral meeting between officials of the two countries.
It said following the engagement, four memoranda of understanding would be signed.
The statement said President Mahama, who is wrapping up a five-day official visit to Belarus at the invitation of President Lukashenko, would address a Ghana-Belarus business forum at the Presidential Hotel later this afternoon.
It said key participants from Ghana included officials from the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), and a delegation of private sector players.
It noted that President Mahama, whose visit was aimed at exploring new frontiers in economic, agricultural, and technical cooperation, toured one of the country’s largest agro-processing facilities, Savushkin Product (Joint Stock Company), over the weekend.
The statement said President Mahama also visited the Belagro Agricultural Exhibition, where he toured and was introduced to a range of farming and mechanisation equipment, food processors, among others.
It said accompanying the President were Mrs Joyce Bawa Mogtari, Presidential Advisor and Special Aide to the President; Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr Eric Opoku, Minister of Food and Agriculture; Mr Stan Xoese Dogbe, Deputy Chief of Staff in-charge of Operations at the Presidency and Madam Shamima Muslim, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson.
