Dzodze (V/R), June 02, GNA –The Reverend Martin Amenaki, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu North, has urged National Service Personnel to remain committed to national development and embrace volunteerism as a key tool for transforming the municipality and the country at large.
He made the call at the Annual General Meeting of the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) in the Ketu North Municipality where members discussed welfare issues and elected new executives for the 2025/2026 service year.
Rev Amenaki commended the personnel for their dedication, stressing the critical role young graduates play in national development.
He pledged the Assembly’s support and assured them of his commitment to ensuring their smooth service period, personal development, and integration into the municipality.
Mr Prosper Kofi Afealete, Ketu North Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), congratulated the personnel for upholding accountability and sustaining peaceful leadership transitions within the association.
He urged them to reject the monetisation of elections, describing it as a growing challenge that undermined democratic values in society.
“The example displayed today and the smooth conduct of another peaceful and credible election give hope for the future. Your conduct deserves emulation by all voters and aspirants in every election,” he said.
Madam Deborah Amedenu, Municipal Coordinator of the National Service Authority, assured personnel of the regular payment of allowances.
She advised them to be punctual at their workplaces and to submit monthly returns promptly to facilitate timely processing of payments.
She also expressed appreciation to the outgoing NASPA executives for their cooperation and support during their tenure.
Mr James Dotse Tesu Galeagbelime, Assembly Member and community opinion leader, encouraged the personnel to take advantage of mentorship opportunities and explore alternative career paths beyond the formal sector to improve their employment prospects.
The newly elected executives were later inducted into office by the NCCE Director.
Speaking on behalf of the new leadership, Mr Desmond Awudi, President, pledged to serve with integrity, dedication, and humility.
“The opportunity entrusted to us is a call to service. We will work hard to justify the confidence reposed in us and make NASPA proud,” he said.
Other members of the newly elected executives are Ms Redeem Adjei, Vice President; Mr Polycarp Normenyo, Secretary; Mr Hope Whiskey, Financial Secretary; Ms Rebecca Avorgbedor, Women’s Commissioner (WOCOM); and Ms Forgive Mawusi Lavoe, Organising Secretary.
The event was attended by past NASPA executives, Ms Mary Awoye of the NCCE, government officials, Assembly Members, and National Service Personnel in the municipality.
