GTA Boss to address participants at HMCA 2026 in Lagos

Takoradi, June 30 GNA – Madam Efua Houadjeto, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), is expected to address this year’s Hotel Managers Conference Africa (HMCA), set to be held in Lagos, Nigeria.  

The HMCA 2026 is scheduled to be held from July 11 to 12, 2026 at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, and would bring together hotel owners, general managers, hospitality executives, tourism policymakers, investors, technology providers, educators and other key stakeholders from across Africa and beyond. 

The two-day conference would feature insightful keynote presentations, panel discussions, executive masterclasses, networking sessions, product exhibitions, business-to-business engagements, hospitality technology showcases, leadership development sessions, and recognition of excellence within Africa’s hospitality and tourism industry. 

It is seeking to foster strategic partnerships, promote innovation, strengthen hotel management capacity, and drive sustainable growth across the continent’s hospitality ecosystem. 

Mr Olugbenga Sunday, the Convener of the HMCA, said in an interview with the Ghana News Agency that the participation of the GTA CEO would reflect the increasing collaboration among African tourism institutions, and reinforced HMCA’s commitment to advancing hospitality excellence across the continent. 

He said: “We are honoured to welcome Maame Efua Houadjeto as our Guest of Honour, because her wealth of experience and visionary leadership in tourism development will greatly enrich discussions at HMCA 2026 and inspire industry stakeholders from across Africa.” 

Mr Sunday described her participation as a significant endorsement of the conference’s growing influence as Africa’s foremost platform for hospitality leadership, innovation, collaboration, and industry development. 

Mr Sunday pointed out that Madam Houadjeto came to the position with a rich repertoire of industry experience spanning hospitality management, travel and tour operations, event planning and management, and real estate development. 

The HMCA 2026 is expected to attract participants from various African countries, providing a unique platform for knowledge exchange, investment opportunities, and strategic conversations that would shape the future of hospitality and tourism on the continent.
