ISLAMABAD, Sept. 22 (Xinhua/GNA) – Six terrorists were killed during a security operation in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province, state-run Radio Pakistan reported Tuesday.
The operation was conducted in Saran Tangi, a locality in Quetta district, based on intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists, the report said.
A large cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the killed terrorists, it added.
Security forces are continuing operations in the area against terrorists, with the operation to continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hailed security forces for the successful operation, saying the troops foiled the terrorists’ plans through bravery and professionalism.
He said every attempt to undermine Pakistan’s peace, security and development would be thwarted with full force, while operations by security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue.
