Adenta Divisional Command of police organises a Get-together

Accra, June 27, GNA – The Adenta Divisional Police Command has organised their Annual (WASSA DAY) on their premises to entertain their gallant men and women.

This programme brought together all the various District Police Commands under the Divisional Headquarters .
Some of them came from Lakeside, Ayimensah, Kuotam, Oyibi, Maidworm, Frafraha Abokobi and Danfa.

All District Commanders and their Crime Officers were in attendance.

Addressing the gathering on the team “Partnership for Safe and Secured Community” , the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Susan Adjei Mensah, the Divisional Police Commander said Police Officers were citizens in Uniform and Citizens were Officers without uniform and added that was why partnership for safe and secured community was carefully chosen as the theme.

She said the Police could not be every where, reiterating that effective policing thrived on great partnership.

Commander Susan Adjei said the role of the police was not just enforcement, but service with three core duties by preventing crime, detecting crime and to protect life and property.

She noted that trust was the currency of security and added that where the community trusted the police, information was easily accessed.

On prevention, she asked the community to light their streets, fence their schools, lock their doors and should not give any chance for crime to fester on.

The La-Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly Chief Executive, Alhaji Faila said he would collaborate with the Adenta Municipal Assembly to complete the uncompleted office structure under construction.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Adenta Ella Esinam Nongo said her Assembly would also assist by maintaining the unserviceable vehicles of the station to enhance the night patrols of the Adenta Divisional Command.

In attendance at the get-together were the Head of Adenta Fire Service Unit Mr John Kwamina Otu.

The Get-together was chaired by Dr Degaule Moses in-charge of MediMoses Prostate Hospital in Adenta.

The Ghana Police Central Band provided melodious songs in entertaining the service men and women.

A first year student from the West African Senior High School Adenta, Miss Justine Ofori gave a security rendition of cooperation between the community and the police which drew a thunderous applause.
