By Charles Tawiah, GNA

Mankranso (Ash), June 6, GNA – Mr. Abubakar Sedik, Ahafo Ano South-West District Chief Executive (DCE) has stressed the need for contractors executing the 24-hour economy model market projects to adhere strictly to their specifications.

He said the contracting firms and the project consultants should ensure the work met the required highest quality standards as planned and be delivered on schedule.

This, he said, would help achieve the designed facilities within the targeted time frames to serve their intended purposes for the people.

Addressing the Chiefs and people of Mankranso during the sod-cutting ceremony, the DCE said the initiative reflected the commitment of the central government to decentralisation and localized economic development and must be treated as such.

He therefore appealed to the residents to cooperate with the contractors.

“Our gathering here is not merely to perform a ceremonial function but to commence a project that will contribute meaningfully to the economic transformation of our district and improve the livelihoods of our people,” he stressed.

He commended President John Dramani Mahama, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Nananom and other stakeholders for their collective efforts towards the success of the initiative.

The District Assemblies’’ Common Fund (DACF) funded multipurpose project is being executed by Cosman 21 Trading and Construction Limited under the technical supervision of Eco Planners and Engineering Consult and scheduled to be completed within three years.

The master layout secures emergency response and security through a police post, an on-site fire station, essential health and community welfare services which will be managed through an integrated clinic, on-site pharmacy, and a day-care centre as well as offices and guest accommodations.

It will also feature 250 lockable and open-space shops designed to resolve long-standing logistical bottlenecks for local farmers and traders.

Nana Tabiri Gyansah III, the Paramount Chief of Mpasaso Traditional Area chaired the function and commended the Government for providing the initiative which is in fulfilment of a campaign promise.

He pledged the support of Nananom in the area for its successful completion.
