Akatsi (VR), May 10, GNA – Winners Co-operative Credit Union, a leading credit union in Volta and beyond, would from May 11 to May 15 celebrate this year’s Women Inclusion Week with a series of activities aimed at empowering women and promoting leadership within the credit union movement.
The celebration, which would take place at the forecourt of the Head Office of the Union in Akatsi, is on the theme: “Raising Women Leaders for Sustainable Credit Unions.”
The five-day programme would focus on awareness creation, leadership development, mentorship, health promotion, and community support.
Activities lined up for Monday include public awareness float, radio sensitisation, and digital campaigns under the awareness and advocacy segment.
Tuesday’s activities would centre on capacity building, including leadership training, communication and confidence sessions, as well as financial literacy education for participants.
Wednesday would be dedicated to mentorship and networking with discussions on governance and elections, panel discussions, and skills training sessions.
Health and wellness activities scheduled for Thursday would include general health screening, blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, and Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment.
The week-long celebration will end on Friday with donation exercises to support vulnerable people within the community.
Organisers said the initiative formed part of efforts to promote gender inclusion, build women’s capacity, and encourage active participation of women in leadership and decision-making within co-operative credit unions.
