Logba (V/R), May 21, GNA – Ms Susan Chobbah, the Volta Regional Director of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Wednesday led a team to carry out registration and renewal of National Health Insurance cards in selected markets in the Volta Region.

The aim of the exercise was to increase enrollment onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), making it a target that every eligible citizen was registered under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

The exercise formed part of efforts by the Authority to bring NHIS services closer to the people while intensifying public education on the importance of active health insurance coverage.

Ms Chobbah, during the outreach in the Logba, Anfoe, Gbi and Juapong markets, commended district officers for their dedication and commitment in reaching out to residents in the various communities.

She praised staff for sacrificing their time and energy to ensure that market women, traders and other residents were registered and renewed onto the Scheme.

The Regional Director, interacting with the market women, encouraged them to regularly check the validity status of their NHIS cards to avoid challenges when seeking healthcare services under the Scheme.

She advised them to make it a habit to visit health facilities for routine medical checkups to monitor their health conditions frequently.

Ms Chobbah urged them to also visit their nearest NHIS district offices anytime they encountered challenges in accessing services under the Scheme.

She assured them that the Authority remained committed to improving service delivery and ensuring customer satisfaction.

The Director also assured staff of the continuous support of the Regional Office whenever the need arose and stressed the importance of teamwork and commitment in achieving the Authority’s Universal Health Coverage target.

She also visited the North Dayi, South Dayi, Central Tongu, and Hohoe district offices where the staff said they were motivated by the visit.

They strengthened their resolve to work harder towards ensuring that no one in the region was left behind in accessing quality healthcare through the NHIS.
