Dzolokpuita (V/R), May 21, GNA – Mr Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, National Coordinator of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) has paid a working visit to the Ho West District to assess the implementation and progress of the programme.

The visit formed part of efforts to evaluate the utilisation of DRIP equipment and strengthen strategies to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the initiative in the district.

Mr Vanderpuye, accompanied by the Volta Regional DRIP Coordinator, Mr Elliot Wogbe, and a former Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Mr Benjamin Komla Kpodo, met with the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ho West, Mr Francis Profer Dusey, and the management of the Assembly.

The meeting focused on operational challenges and ways of maximising the use of the equipment to enhance development in the area.

Speaking during the engagement, Mr Vanderpuye underscored the importance of proper maintenance of the machines to guarantee long-term service delivery and improve road networks in deprived communities.

“We must ensure that the equipment is properly managed and maintained to serve the purpose for which the Government introduced the programme. Good roads remain critical to development and economic growth,” he said.

The delegation later inspected the DRIP equipment and interacted with machine operators, urging them to handle the machines professionally, diligently, and with care to ensure efficiency and sustainability.

“You are custodians of these machines, and the success of the programme depends largely on how responsibly they are handled,” Mr Vanderpuye advised.

Mr Dusey expressed appreciation to the National Coordinator and his team for the visit and reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to the successful implementation of the programme.

“We are committed to ensuring that the DRIP initiative achieves its intended purpose of improving road infrastructure and enhancing socio-economic development within the district,” the DCE assured.
