Accra, May 25, GNA – Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has named a 28-man squad for a 2026 World Cup preparation camp and an international friendly against Wales in Cardiff, with Abdul Rahman Baba and Ernest Nuamah returning to the team.

The Black Stars opened camp on Monday, May 25, at Dragon Park in Cardiff ahead of the friendly scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

Defender Baba, who plays for Greek side PAOK, was recalled for the first time since September 2023 after a consistent season in which he made 35 appearances, scoring three goals and providing three assists across all competitions.

Nuamah, the Olympique Lyon winger, also returns after nearly a year out. He is back to full fitness following a long-term anterior cruciate ligament injury that kept him sidelined for more than 12 months.

Other players returning from injury include Rayo Vallecano defender Abdul Mumin, Saint-Étienne midfielder Augustine Boakye and Stade Rennes defender Alidu Seidu.

Ajax Amsterdam youngster Paul Reverson has been included for further assessment, with the 20-year-old earning a call-up after impressive outing with the youth side.

Ghana would use the Wales friendly as part of its build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

The Black Stars are drawn in Group L, where they would face Panama in their opening match in Toronto before taking on England and Croatia in Boston and Philadelphia.
