Mepe (V/R), May 18, GNA – The One Million Coders Programme has officially commenced at Mepe in the North Tongu District, marking a key milestone in efforts to equip young people with digital and technological skills for the future.

The initiative is aimed at empowering beneficiaries with practical knowledge in coding, digital innovation, and technology-driven problem solving to enhance their competitiveness within the growing digital economy.

As part of the rollout, laptops recently received under the programme have been configured and deployed to facilitate training sessions and ensure effective implementation of the project.

Madam Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe, District Chief Executive for North Tongu, said the programme represents a strategic investment in youth development and digital transformation within the district.

She expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Innovation, and the Member of Parliament and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, for their support and commitment to the initiative.

Madam Doe noted that the collaboration among stakeholders demonstrates a shared commitment to building a future-ready generation capable of leveraging technology for innovation and development.

She further urged beneficiaries to take the training seriously, stressing the need for discipline, commitment, and active participation throughout the programme. She encouraged them to maximise the opportunity to acquire relevant digital skills, remain focused, and avoid distractions that could undermine their progress.
