Atebubu, (Bono East) May 29, GNA – Mr Thomas Yaw Maswud Ayarba, the Atebubu/Amantin Municipal Chief Executive has advised the Muslim community in the area to support the government’s efforts towards accelerating national development.

“You must be nation builders and not wreckers,” he advised, when addressing a Muslims gathering at Atebubu, to mark the Eid-ul-Adha celebration, in the Bono East Region.

Mr Ayarba advised Muslims to bury their differences and forge ahead in unity and to push the holistic development of the municipality, saying that Islam remained a peaceful religion, urging them to endeavour to forgive each other’s offences too.

He entreated them to eschew bitterness, hatred and petty backbiting, and asked the Muslim youth to channel their exuberances into productive activities and also shun unhealthy lifestyles.

Mr Ayarba advised the Muslims to manage their differences well in order not prevent conflicts and related violence that could affect the prevailing peace of the area and thereby thwart the development process.

Sheikh Osman Hussein Saani, the Atebubu/Amantin Municipal Chief Imam led the Muslims to offer special prayers for President John Dramani Mahama’s government and the nation.
